John Callcott Horsley (1817-1903), painter, treasurer of the Academy 1882-1897. He was a painter of genre and historical scenes, illustrator, and the designer of the first Christmas card. “I need not say that it is for pictorial purposes & I shall be glad of a full sized specimen …”
