Autograph Letter Signed, to Miss Selby, about completing his work, identifying specimens in the box she sent, including a specimen he has sketched and hopes to publish. 3 pp. 7 x 4½ inches, in good condition. Taunton, September 1875. Thomas Hincks (1818 – 1899) naturalist known for his work on zoophytes and bryozoa. He published A history of the British hydroid zoophytes (1868) and A history of the British marine Polyzoa (1880). In June 1872, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society. At least six genera and 13 species of invertebrates are named in his honour.
