Autograph Letter Signed ‘Octavia Hill’ to Miss Wilder, hoping she can help at Lambeth, setting out the working days and annual leave, suggesting Settlement addresses for her accommodation, and “Should you desire to work more than three days there is abundance to do of other kinds”. 2 pp. 7 x 4 inches, in good condition. 190 Marylebone Road, 19 February 1910. Octavia Hill (1838-1912), housing reformer and founder of the National Trust. Hill was a moving force behind the development of social housing, including Council housing, and she also campaigned for the availability of open spaces for poor people, which resulted in the establishment of the National Trust.
