Autograph Letter Signed “Believe me sincerely yours, George” to Captain Jephson, asking him to take the Princess Leiningen, who arrives in London first thing tomorrow, to see the [Naval] Exhibition. 1½ pages, in good condition (integral blank page removed). Balmoral Castle, 22 September 1891. King George V (b. 1865, reigned 1910-1935). Captain Sir Alfred Jephson R.N., who served in the Crimea, the Indian Mutiny, and at the capture of Canton, was honorary secretary of the very successful Naval Exhibition held in London in 1891. “… my father begs me to ask you to write to her at once & put yourself at her disposal & show her over the Exhibition, which she is most anxious to see.”
