Warrant or Authority for Payment of £70 for the Relief of the Widows or Wives of the Pensioners of Chelsea Hospital for the year 1815, signed ‘George PR’ at head, countersigned by Treasury ministers, Vanisittart, Paget and Lowther, addressed to the Councillors and Treasurer of the Royal Hospital Chelsea. 2 pp. 14 x 9 inches, in good condition, folds. Treasury stamp for one pound, ten shillings. Given at Our Court at Carlton House, 23 February 1816. Signed by the Prince Regent [later King George IV (reigned 1820-1830)]. He signed as Prince Regent during the periods of illness suffered by his father, King George III (reigned 1760-1820).
