Autograph Letter Signed ‘Alfred Crowquill’, to “Dear Squire”, sending a drawing of a Bear, suggesting further cooperation “as it may be an egg to hatch a chicken”. A good one page example, 7 x 4 inches. 30 September 1868. Alfred Henry Forrester (1804-1872), artist, known as Alfred Crowquill, was a popular writer and illustrator of many works, including children’s books. “I think that we might, you having known my designing character for some years, do a good stroke of business among these tub & bottle men, you to go round in your Brougham & I stop at home with my pencil”.
