Alfred Henry Forrester (1804-1872), artist, known as Alfred Crowquill, was a popular writer and illustrator of many works, including children’s books. “I think that we might, you having known my designing character for some years, do a good stroke of business among these tub & bottle men, you to go round in your Brougham & I stop at home with my pencil”.
