Autograph Signature taken from the end of a letter: “Yours truly Robt. FitzRoy.” 2 x 4 inches, corners clipped, in good condition. Undated. An uncommon autograph. Robert FitzRoy (1805–1865), hydrographer and meteorologist, Captain of the Beagle, which sailed in 1831 with Charles Darwin on board. In 1854 he established what would later be called the Met Office. He was Governor of New Zealand 1843-1845.
