Description
Two Autograph Letters Signed ‘Havelock Ellis’, unaddressed [but to Mrs. H.Martineau], taking in “the main points of your condensed & breathless summary” but aware “you do not know my sex books”, mentioning publications and Studio articles, and sending a little paper on The New Mother, to be published in April, also making arrangements for their meeting. 3 pp. 10 x 8 inches, fine. 14 Dover Mansions, Brixton, 1 & 15 March 1929[?]. Henry Havelock Ellis (1859-1939), pioneer sexologist and author. About The New Mother he writes: “I should like to know what you think of it, as I shall enlarge it, so am glad of criticisms. It is based on the observation of women friends of mine who are mothers, especially one dear friend who is entirely French (though she has lived many years in England) & has two boys, now 14 & 12.”
