Autograph Letter Signed ‘Eliza Dorville’, to the booksellers, Messrs. Arch & Co., Cornhill, London, listing the books and part works already supplied “to the late Geo. Montagu”, and enquiring about some plates and sets not yet received, although they appear in the bookseller’s account. 2 pp. 9 x 7 inches, a few old repairs, generally good, with the integral address leaf. Kingsbridge [Devon], 26 February 1816. Uncommon. Eliza Dorville, mistress and assistant to naturalist George Montagu (1753-1815). Many of the drawings of the animals he studied bear her initials.
