Autograph Letter Signed ‘Mary M.Currie’, to Mrs. Story [Emma Eames, American soprano], explaining that they have only just returned from Naples and therefore could not avail themselves of her kind invitation. 1 page 7 x 4¾ inches, one unobtrusive thin. [Rome] 10 May 1900. Violet Fane was the literary pseudonym of Lady Mary Currie, née Mary Montgomerie Lamb (1843-1905), novelist, poet and essayist. Her husband was ambassador to Rome from 1898 to 1903.
