Autograph Letter Signed, to James Cochrane, discussing their joint venture in the publication of The Songs of England and Scotland [published 1835], offering to sell him the work outright, and discussing in detail the economics of the publication and sale of the edition. 3 pp. 9 x 7 inches, with address panel, in good condition, small tear at seal opening. Audit Office, Somerset Place, 19 August 1835. Peter Cunningham (1816-1869), author and critic, third son of Allan Cunningham, became a chief clerk in the Audit Office. He is remembered for his Handbook of London (2 vols. 1849), and also edited other handbooks and collected works.
