Audit Office, Somerset Place, 19 August 1835. Peter Cunningham (1816-1869), author and critic, third son of Allan Cunningham, became a chief clerk in the Audit Office. He is remembered for his Handbook of London (2 vols. 1849), and also edited other handbooks and collected works.
