A lengthy Autograph Letter Signed, about M. Langlois’ expectations of a reward for translating Harivansa. In French. 3 pp. 9½ x 8 inches, complete, but left and right margins frayed and torn. Paris, 27 December 1831. Antoine-Léonard de Chézy (1773 –1832) was a French orientalist. He was the first professor of Sanskrit appointed in the Collège de France (1815). Among his works are Medjouin et Leila (1807), from the Persian, Yadjanadatta Badha (1814), La Reconnaissance de Sacountala (1830), from the Sanskrit, L’Anthologie érotique d’Amrou (1831), published under the pseudonym d’Apudy.
