Autograph Letter Signed ‘Champfleury’, sending books and pamphlets as ordered, discussing works on ceramics, and thanking his correspondent for the English catalogue. In French. 1 page 8 x 5 inches, in good condition, a few minor blemishes, a little dusty. 12 October 1878. Chamfleury (Jules Felix Fleury-Husson) (1820 – 1889), French art critic and novelist, a prominent supporter of the Realist movement in painting and fiction. In 1843 Fleury-Husson moved to Paris. He met Charles Baudelaire and the next year started writing art criticism under the pen-name “Champfleury” for the journal L’Artiste. From 1872 until his death in 1889 he was Chief of Collections at the Sèvres porcelain factory.
