Neville Chamberlain (1869-1940), Prime Minister from 1937-1940, writes in a postscript: “I do hope you can see your way to accept.” A this time Chamberlain was Minister of Health. Chamberlain served only five months in the office before the Conservatives were defeated in the 1923 general election.
