Autograph Letter Signed, to Sir G.Yonge, sending a memorial requesting leave of absence for the soldier son of a friend of Campbell, “Mr. Mutter, who was sometime Governor of one of the Forts in Africa”. 1 page 9 x 7 inches, one light stain, in good condition. 30 June 1789. Sir Ilay Campbell (1734-1823) was appointed Solicitor General for Scotland in 1783 and Lord Advocate in 1784.
