With official annotations. In french 1½ pages 9 x 7 inches, in fine condition, integral blank leaf. Printed heading. Paris, 27 thermidor an 7e. [14 August 1799]. Jean Jacques Régis de Cambacérès (1753-1824), duke of Parma, lawyer and statesman, concerned himself with legal and legislative work, even during the Terror. As Napoleon’s second consul he played an important part in drawing up the Civil Code, later called the Code Napoleon. He was Minister of Justice between July and December, 1799.
