Autograph Letter Signed ‘J.H.Rangoon’, to Buxton Morrish in Regent Street, about the arrival of pictures from Burma by his son [William Holt Yates Titcomb], discussing their exhibition. 4 pp. 7 x 4 inches, in good condition. On the writing paper of Bishop’s House, Rangoon, but postmarked Woking Station. [England] 23 February 1882. Jonathan Holt Titcomb (1819-1887), first Bishop of Rangoon. On 17 February 1881 he fell over a cliff in the Karen hills, and was so injured that he was ultimately obliged to return to England, where on 3 March 1882 he resigned his bishopric.
