Autograph Letter Signed, to Dr. Wilson, introducing Dr. Weber of Breslau, another Vedantic scholar. 2 pp. 7 x 4½ inches, in good condition. Carlton Terrace, 19 October 1846. Christian Charles Josias, Baron von Bunsen (1791-1860), German diplomat and scholar. During a stay in England in 1841 Bunsen had made himself very popular among all classes of society, and he was selected by Queen Victoria, out of three names proposed by the King of Prussia, as ambassador to the Court of St. James’s. In this post he remained for thirteen years.
