Brande’, to Professor Hart, unable to use his ticket, “for I am obliged to go to Chiswick in the afternoon, and see little chance of reaching the Royal Academy by the appointed hour.” 1 page 7 x 4 inches, with two lines and signature overleaf. Mint, 13 February 1856. William Thomas Brande (1788-1866), chemist, editor of the Dictionary of Science and Art, author of a Manual of Chemistry. He became superintendent of the die department at the Mint.
