Autograph Letter Signed ‘John Bowring’, on leave in England from Canton, before being appointed Governor of Hong Kong in 1854. to Benjamin Hawes, minister at the War Office, about “a most amusing letter from Mr McG”, asking Hawes to forward the enclosed [not present] “with your family dispatches”. 1 page 7 x 4 inches, in good condition, light traces of former mounting on verso.
