Thomas George Bonney (1833-1923), geologist, author of numerous works on geological and Alpine subjects. His attention was specially directed to the study of the igneous and metamorphic rocks in Alpine regions and in various parts of England. Lake Bonney in Antarctica is named after him. He became President of the Geological Society and of the Alpine Club. Author of Memories of a Long Life (1921) and other works.
