Autograph Letter Signed to ‘My dear Canon’, Sending him some ideas [no longer enclosed] for the ‘organ legends’. 1½ pages 7 x 4 inches, in good condition. Park Crescent, Portland Place, ‘Monday’, no date. George Frederick Bodley (1827-1907). architect. Written between 1886 and 1891 when he lived with his family at Park Crescent. Architectural commissions he was working on during this time included the chapel at Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire for the seventh duke of Newcastle, said to be his favourite project but ending bitterly in his dismissal after a row about overspending. Bodley also designed several important and elaborate organ cases.
