Autograph Letter Signed ‘Shelford Bidwell’, thanking his correspondent for the note, glad “you can give me 50 Grove cells”, asking for an electric lantern and a second screen for his forthcoming lecture on Experimental Meteorology. 2 pp. 7 x 4 inches, some defects to the second leaf, one area inexpertly repaired. Riverstone Lodge, Wandsworth, 6 February 1890. Shelford Bidwell FRS (1848 – 1909) was an English physicist and inventor. He is best known for his work with “telephotography”, a precursor to the modern fax machine.
