Autograph Letter Signed, to James Peel R.B.A., reminiscing about the Society [Royal Society of British Artists], as proud of it today “as when you first brought your fresh & sincere rendering of nature into our galleries”. 4 pp. 6 x 4 inches, in good condition, filing hole. 7 North Road, Clapham Park, 26 June 1897. Sir Wyke Bayliss (1835 –1906), painter, author and poet. He almost exclusively painted interiors of British and European churches and cathedrals. His autobiography, Olives: the Reminiscences of a President, was published posthumously.
