Autograph Letter Signed, to Sir William, sending a copy of his Royal Academy lectures. 1 page 7 x 4 inches, traces of mounting on verso. 21 Abingdon Street, Westminster, 3 May 1871. “I have taken the opportunity to have a sly poke or two at the Goths.” Edward Middleton Barry (1830-1880), architect, third son of Sir Charles Barry. Among his most significant contributions to London’s architectural scene is the Theatre of the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
