Two Autograph Letters Signed, to Grant Reid, discussing Barlow’s current published works, sending a copy of his play “Jesus of Nazareth” just published. 2 letters, 6 pp. 7 x 4 inches, in good condition, minor blemishes. 28 New Cavendish Street, 25 October & 1 November 1896. George Barlow (1847-1913), poet, who sometimes wrote under the pseudonym James Hinton. A prolific poet, his collected “Poetical Works” amounted to over 3,000 pages of verse. Barlow was dubbed the ‘Bard of the sixteen sonnets a day’ by his acquaintance Charles Marston, and ‘the Poet of spiritualism’ by Edward Bennett; his sonnet sequences explored spiritualism and erotic love.
