Autograph Letter Signed, to Benjamin Hawes M.P., thanking him for his kindness and the valuable “pass ticket” (for the railways?), preparing for her visit to the pageant at camp, probably to view manoeuvres, inviting Mr and Mrs Hawes to dine, etc. 1½ pages 7 x 4½ inches, in good condition. 20 June, no year given. Sarah Austin (1793-1867), translator and editor of German texts. As for her invitation, “Pray remember this, & don’t let it evaporate among the complimentary phrases of London.
