Autograph Letter Signed ‘Anstey Guthrie’ while on a cycling tour of Germany, to C.F.Keary, the numismatist and writer, saying that he has “written to M.Barran, asking what terms he would suggest for a translation of ‘A Fallen Idol’, & saying that whatever arrangements he made with Kipling & Wells will satisfy me”, and thanking Keary for the introduction. 1 page 11 x 8½ inches, folds, in good condition. Braunschweig, 7 September 1906. Thomas Anstey Guthrie (1856-1934), humorous writer as F.Anstey, author of Vice Versa. “…the only story of mine which has appeared in French is ‘The Black Poodle’.”
