Autograph Letter Signed, wishing to send “the large drawing of a Shipwreck you purchased of me some years since” to the International Exhibition at Kensington for 1872”. 3 pp.7 x 4 inches, fine. New Brentford, 24 February 1872. Uncommon. George Henry Andrews (1816-1898), marine artist, contributed to the Illustrated London News, and The Graphic. In 1837 he accompanied Richard W.H. Howard-Vyse on an archaeological expedition to Egypt, where he served as an engineer and illustrator for Howard-Vyse’s three-volume Operations Carried on at the Pyramids of Gizeh (1840-42). As Special Artist he accompanied the Prince of Wales to North America in 1860.
