Autograph Letter Signed ‘Lucy Anderson’, to Miss Shepherd, recording her proxy vote for Miss Richmond. 2 pp. 7 x 4 inches, in good condition. 28 November 1842. Lucy Anderson (1790-1878), eminent English pianist, was appointed pianist to Queen Adelaide (1832) and to Queen Victoria (1837). She also taught the piano to the Royal children. She was the first female pianist to play at the concerts of the Philharmonic Society. Her portrait by Richard James Lane is in the National Portrait Gallery.
