Maurizio Bufalini (1787-1875), famous Italian doctor. In 1835 he was appointed to the chair of clinical medicine in the school of Santa Maria Nuova di Firenze. His published works concerned the classification of diseases, the analysis of symptoms, the investigation of causes and the effects of therapeutic drugs. He also wrote a treatise about science and freedom. A street in Florence is named after him.
